Thursday

I was on call Wednesday night. My 12-o'clock rounds lasted until about 12:45, and I didn't get to sleep until around 1:45. Normally, I'd be OK with that, because I only have one class on Tues/Thurs, and it's at 12:30. But for the first time, I was called in the night. At 5:30 Mike called me because the fire box was going crazy. [For those of you who don't know, the fire box tells us when a smoke detector goes off or when a fire alarm is pulled, and then it tells us where it is.] Basically, we knew it was nothing, but he had to call me just to say he did, and I had to check it out just to say I did. It turned out to be nothing, of course. I got back to my room around 6:00 and could never fall back asleep. So I got some breakfast at around 7:15, where I joined some people already there in Maple. I got back to my room around 8:00, where I promptly fell asleep on my couch...for the next 3 hours or so. In total, I got about 7 hours of sleep, though it was split in half. I don't recommend sleeping like that, by the way.

My dad said his presentation went OK. He had some problems, but they liked what they heard and invited him back for a similar gig in September. Cool.

My dad's birthday is on Tuesday, and my bro's is on Thursday. What shall I get them? Hmm... I was discussing with Sara last night why it is we give people presents on their birthday. Why do we even celebrate birthdays in the first place? They didn't do anything on that day - the mom and the doc did. Maybe you should give your mom a present on your birthday. It's a funny thing we do. But, nonetheless, we do it. So what shall I get them? I'll have to ponder that. But fast. Cause it's Friday.

Well, I have a test I need to get to. Later everyone.
