What a weekend, indeed. I was on call all weekend, so I was stuck in the building. Weekends are normally pretty dead, but this weekend was especially dead since people had started moving their things back home. On Friday, I walked into the TV room and discovered shaving cream all over the place - on the piano, in the piano keys, on the furniture, and on the floor. Andy, Ted, and Taylor helped me clean it up, then we had to close the TV room. Our rule is: if you trash it, we close it. It was trashed, so we closed it.
That made for some tension in the dorm, since people normally go there to hang out and escape the confines of their room. Since I decided to keep it closed until 5pm today, it was closed during my captivity here. I couldn't leave, and I couldn't chill in the TV room.
Then...since we're in finals week, we have 23-hour quiet hours. That means that we're supposed to create a study-friendly environment throughout the dorm. Quiet hours are normally 10pm-10am, but now we're 7pm-6pm. Because of that, and because I was on call, I was paged several times for noise complaints. Then last night, Andy, Ryan, and I watched Kelly's Heroes. It was over around 2:00, when Andy and Ryan left. I was tired, so I put in Field of Dreams to help me go to sleep. Unfortunately, I became more interested in it as it progressed and didn't sleep until the end - around 4:00 or 5:00. I was called for noise violations once during each movie.
Then I was called again at like 8:30 because someone's sink was messed up (which the RAOC has to try to fix before we call maintenance). As soon as I finished with that, someone called about their shower knob being messed up. I got back to my room around 9:30 and didn't wake up until around 3:00.
I went to church at Denton Bible with Andy this evening. The company I used to work for, Acoustic Dimensions, worked on the new auditorium, so it was cool to see something we had done. The music was decent, and I liked the pastor pretty well. I think I'll try to keep going with Andy over the summer, since he'll be a summer RA.
