Fin & Feather and Physics craziness

Well Daniel's back from his adventures up north. He was (please correct me if I'm wrong) working at the University of Illinois for about a month doing physics research stuff, then proceded to the Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island for about another month to do mad scientist-type stuff. He had a blast. Of course he did - he's a physics major. It was a summer internship-typ thing that he got, which I'm told is wicked hard to get. For a freshman to get this job is almost unheard of, as I'm told. Congrats, bro.

I drove back last night from an annual family reunion at the Fin & Feather Resort in Oklahoma. That's always fun. Unfortunately, because my grandma has alzheimer's, the time there is changing. She used to be the one to make the food, book the cabin, tell everyone what to bring, etc... But now, we have to do it all. It's also strange how we've always had at least one child under the age of 4 there. We've been doing this since I was like 7 or something, when we only had 3 or 4 grandkids. Now, we have like 11 or something. There's too many of them! But it's odd to see everyone getting older, yet still there are more babies. [crazy Ed & Julie!]

Did I mention my brother is crazy in love with physics? Well he is. When we went cliff-jumping at the nearby Tenkiller Lake at Fin & Feather, he calculated the time it took to fall from the ledge (~1.2 seconds). I'm a little afraid of heights, so it's hard for me to do make the jump. So what I have to do is just run up there and go right away. That way, I don't have time to think about it. I just jump. Then it's all over and fun. But my cousins don't believe me. They stood up there for like 30-45 minutes trying to work up enough courage to jump. I even tried to bribe them with free milkshakes and sodas, but they still didn't go. Oh well. Another day.

I had a root canal a while back. They put on the temporary crown about a week or so ago, and I have to get the real thing put on at noon today. [grumbles angrily] I'm not really worried about it, but we'll see how I feel.

almost = date with dentist
later = rockin good time at the DBC 86-hour Film Festival
tomorrow = -(everything)
