The day is finally done

Let me begin from the beginning...

My dad and I took in the van to be fixed up Friday afternoon for our trip to St. Louis today. The guys at the car shop accidentally ordered the wrong part, but didn't realize it until they tried to put it on. So they said they'd have to come early in the morning and fix it for us before our trip. We got in our new Hundai to go get it, and the car wouldn't start. It was like the battery was dead or something. So we got in my '89 Cressida and headed out.

My car started making a grinding noise in the front right tire, and we thought it was the breaks. So we decided to just swap cars and have it looked at while we're gone. But when my dad got out to go inside the repair shop, my hood started smoking. The radiator cracked. There were 3 holes in the radiator, and steam and coolant were coming out everywhere. At least it happened in the parking lot of the repair shop.

So this morning started out with 3 cars and 3 troubles. Did you know it takes almost exactly 12 hours to get from our home to St. Louis? I did. We drove all day today. Our car was packed to the max. Literally. We could barely all fit in there. But we're here now, and I'm going to bed.

Good night, all. And Merry Christmas!

So...is the car gonna be fixed? If not, my condolences to you. The cressida was a great car that served you well. There were some great times in it, like the 8 hour roadtrip that it made...both ways. I remember the many times it would take us to food late night when those random hungering would hit. Next semester, if you ever need anything from me or the beretta, we'll be glad to help out. May your car rest in peace.

No! It's not dead! They're just fixing it while we're up here in St. Louis. No worries, the Cressida will live another day!

Rock on. I'm really glad to hear that. I was definitely scared for you and your car. Have a good time in St. Louis.

I hope you had a good restful Christmas after that day of automotive craziness. And I thought my car trouble was bad. :-) I'm glad your Cressida will be ok. Janna would have been heartbroken, I'm sure.
