Friday Pride Day (usually)

Each Friday, thousands of UNT students wear a green shirt to show pride in our school. Naturally, I give everyone a hard time when they don't. But this Friday, I will not be wearing green. Instead, I will be wearing blue and black - the Air Force colors - as my dad is officially promoted to the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force. (that's the rank just below General)

It's going to be so cool. He's stationed out of Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, so we're driving down there tomorrow. He discovered that military personnel can use state and national landmarks for special military purposes, so my dad's promotion ceremony will be at the Alamo! How sweet is that?

But don't worry, I'm going to Abilene to pick up my brother tonight, and I'm wearing my green North Texas shirt.

Congrats to your dad! I'm excited for you...what a monumental occasion to be able to witness. And I think you can be excused from wearing green for that reason. :-) I look forward to seeing those pictures. haha.
