On This Day In History...

From my dad's uncle (my great-uncle), DA Sharpe:
The first edition of Noah Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language was published on April 14, 1828, just 37 years prior to the shooting of President Lincoln, my 30th cousin, three times removed. Noah Webster is my third cousin, five times removed. Noah is the third great grandson of Plymouth Colony Governor William Bradford and Alice Carpenter Bradford. They are my seventh great grandparents.

1912: The HMS Titanic strikes an iceberg just before midnight, leading to its demise.

1956: CBS purchases 3 new cameras that record both video and sound for $75,000 each.
