25 May 2007

It's been a week since my last post. It's odd not posting very often anymore. We have no internet at the house here, and I don't really have the time or opportunity to do anything at work much, so I only use my bro's or dad's laptops every now and then. (where we can access our neighbor's wireless internet)

At work, there is another guy named Ben. Ben Foote. So to avoid confusion, we're going by our last names. I used to be called "Jumper" - back when I played lots of sports. But that was ages ago. It's weird to go back to that, and I'm still getting used to it. One of the guys accidentally called the other Ben "Boone" once. He's not sure how, as he's never met anyone named Boone. I guess it's a combo of Ben and Foote. Either way, the name stuck. Jumper and Boone. It's fun.

I love my work. It rocks. We'll be launching the website next week, and I'll send out a Facebook message to everyone I know about it. Then you can see everything I've been working on these last few weeks and make use of it if you're a musician (or want to be). Remember, it's ChordStudio.com. Don't forget.

I started exercising each morning. It's good. And since I don't have to be to work until 10, I have plenty of time. I also started reading the Bible each morning after running. I've been wanting to get back into that for a long time, so I'm glad I finally started again. I have to wake up earlier than I'm used to, but that's OK. Running in the morning sure beats running in the evening heat.

This weekend we're driving up to Kansas City, MO to see my grandparents on my mom's side. As you may recall, my grandma has Alzheimer's and is getting worse as time goes on. It'll be good to see them, as always, but I have my reservations. I haven't even unpacked from coming home from school yet. I work all day, and hardly do anything at home before going to bed again. I'm tired, I need a day to rest, to unpack. But, just the other day, I read Philippians 2:4, "Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing." I shouldn't be going to KC because I want to see my grandparents. I should go because they want to see me; because my mom wants me to go with her. It's amazing how selfish we humans tend to be.

I think I do that a lot though - forget about other people's feelings. My mom always says I'm too cold-hearted. She's mostly joking, but you get the point. I'll have to work on that.

Well, I must go set the table for dinner. We're having port tenderloin and mashed potatoes. Mmmmmm. [drools] I'll be off then. Until we meet again!
