Sleepy-time Cowboy

My mom made up a little lullaby song to sing to me & my bro when we were wee little lads. It was called "Sleepy-time Cowboy." Unfortunately, I'm not a sleepy-time cowboy tonight. I'm not really tired at all. Yes, the timestamp below is correct. It's after 3am. I just want to sleep so I'll be good to go in the morning. But I can't. Alas....

On the football front, I'm killing in our fantasy league. Our league is first based on record (wins and losses), then based on points (if two teams have the same record, the one with the most points goes ahead). I am in first place with a 4-0 record and 578.22 points. There is a team tied with me at 4-0 with a measly 437.30 points, but I'm playing them this week and should beat them terribly. Thus, I will move to 5-0 +lots of points. The next team is 3-1 and has 514.49 points. That's like half a game behind me in points. It turns out it's Bethany's team. She'll probably win, so she'll move up to 2nd place. Good work B. Unfortunately for her and all the teams in the NFC, the 'Boys and I are going all the way this year.

I need to stop going to concerts and borrowing CDs from people. I'm so excited about all these new bands I'm discovering. It's sick. There's no way I'm ever going to cross off every band from my list. It's so long. If you haven't checked out the new David Crowder stuff, get it now with an extra pair of pants. You'll need them.

My cousin, Sam, just got engaged. That's pretty cool. He'll be the second cousin on my dad's side to get married. I assume I'll be the first on my mom's side cause I'm the oldest and we're all pretty well spread out (10 or 11 kids, ages 4-23). He's also graduating from pilot training in the Air Force the day before I graduate college with my bachelor's degree. I wonder what he'll be doing next. What will he be flying? He's pretty good, so he'll probably get what he wants - the F-15 Eagle. Now that's a nice plane.

I wish I read more. I used to like to read. A lot. Seriously. I just don't any more. Maybe if I didn't wait to go to bed until I'm about to pass out, I'd read more. In bed is my favorite place to read - everything's quiet, you're comfy, you have nothing else to do. I also have to find something I WANT to read. I have 2 books about business and/or marketing, but they just don't keep me engaged. I tried to read both of them over the summer, but couldn't. They seem pretty interesting, but my mind always wonders when I open the pages. I need a good war history book again. I used to be hooked on Stephen E. Ambrose. That guy is amazing. As well as James Bradley. That guy can write, too.

Sorry for all the links. I did spend time finding those things, so you should at least pretend to check them out for me. OK, well I'm going to try to sleep again. Fare thee well.

Pick up a book by Kurt Vonnegut. You will reclaim your love for reading and find a new favourite writer all at the same time. I garentee it.
