Well, if I haven't told you yet, I did well on my physical fitness test with the Marines yesterday morning. And now I'm sore.
The test consisted of pull-ups, then crunches, then a 3-mile run. But what we didn't know was that we'd then continue on with more crunches and more pull-ups "just for fun". They didn't count for anything, and I was surprised as to how many I could do the second time around. Of course, no one did as many as before. But it helped me. I learned how to do everything better for next time, which was the point I guess.
But this morning, I hurt. I did the equivalant of 186 crunches in 4 minutes, 20 dead-hang pull-ups and ran 3 miles in 23:50. It was hard. But good enough. This week, I'll be signing some papers to get me into training in January. In just over a week, I'll get a 3-day-long physical exam to be a pilot. My journey continues!
