In exactly 2 weeks, I'll be somewhere in Oklahoma on my way to Kansas City, MO. That will be the first leg in my one-week journey to see family on the way to OCS in Quantico. I'm getting more and more excited as it gets closer to the date. The only problem is that I'm getting more and more excited as it gets closer to the date.
It's like senioritis in high school or college - you're a senior who's about to graduate, and you just can't wait to get out. Maybe you're literally counting down the days. Maybe you can't concentrate any more. There are many symptoms, but all are equally disruptive to the daily routine. It might just be the difficulty of my tasks at work over the last few days, but I've found myself getting more frustrated than normal. I've also noticed that I'm checking email, RSS feeds, or news sites more frequently than I used to. It's like my heart is already gone and it's trying to convince my mind and body to go with it.
So, I'd ask that you wish me luck as I begin my journey in two weeks and pray for my focus and concentration in the mean time. Thanks!
