The Weekend

I drove up to Kansas City on Friday where I spent the night with my grandpa. Saturday morning he and I went to see my grandma in the memory care facility she just moved into. The visit was good. I had lunch with my cousin, Tim, who just broke up with his girlfriend, so we had some good guy-talk. The rest of the day was spent with everyone else. I saw all the rest of my cousins and aunts and uncles…and…the new baby! My cousin, Emily, just had a new baby, Sophie, and she is mighty cute! I visited with the older cousins, played with the younger cousins - good times were had by all. I had breakfast Sunday with my grandpa the next morning at his most favorite place in the whole wide world: Bob Evans. It was, as usual, delicious.

Then I drove out to Fulton, Missouri, which is in the center of the state, to meet my aunt and uncle (my dad's sister). They live on more than 200 acres out in the country with cattle, some woods, and some ponds - a good mix of land. I hand-fed some of the cows...and it was wet. I spent the night there Sunday night and my cousin Jeff and I drove to St. Louis Monday morning. In February, he'll be getting married in St Louis, and I unfortunately will not be able to attend. :-( We met for lunch with his fiancé, my grandparents on my dad's side, and my Uncle Mark who was in town for a church meeting. Again, good times were had by all. All the rest of the day was spent driving to Chicago with my Uncle Mark. He had flown down from Chicago one way so he could drive back with me and we would have some time to visit. I am mere minutes away from their house now so I will bid you all good night and prepare to greet my 7 cousins! Adios!
