I haven't said much of substance in recent weeks, mostly because there hasn't been much to say. But now, I am moved in to my new house, and I have begun my new job as the video intern for College Life at Denton Bible Church. So far, I've mostly just gotten to know some people and begun organizing/cleaning the room in which I will do most of my work. (It was pretty jacked up)
I have three housemates - Taylor, Josh, and Zach. Taylor and Josh were both residents of mine at Clark Hall when I was an RA. Now we live and work together. Strange. But all three are great. We all seem to get along quite well, so I'm excited to see what this next year will have to bring. I'm also excited not to be living alone again. When I was in McKinney, I was far from everyone I new. And since I worked far away, I didn't really have time or a reason to meet new people. It was rough. But now, I could hit the building I work in from my house with a rock, and I live there with other guys around my age.
The only "real" things I've done so far are the Sunday night Bible studies and the Tues/Thurs morning Matrix. The Matrix is like a discipleship class for those college kids who are here over the summer. We interns (us 4 guys and about 7 girls) all help set up everything and cook pancakes for everyone every Tuesday. The thing is, though, that The Matrix is at 6am. Which means that we have to get there around 5am to start setting up and cooking pancakes (only on Tues, as I said). It's been pretty rough some days, but I've already learned a lot about various things from the talks. There are some gifted speakers at this church with excellent perspectives on topics. Good stuff.
Anyway, just wanted to give the updates on things. Oh, I already have my ticket to go see the next installment in the Harry Potter series. 11:59pm Tuesday night. I'm excited.
