WISE COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY NEWS RELEASE
June 18, 2008
Governor Rick Perry appointed Wise County citizen D. A. Sharpe to a position on the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians for a term to expire September 1, 2011. Sharpe was sworn in as an officer of the State by Wise County Precinct #2 Justice of the Peace Judge Terri L. Johnson on June 18 in Decatur.
The Board is a nine member commission that oversees the policies which govern what are the standards to certify licensed dietitians in Texas. Such licensed professionals usually serve institutions, such as hospitals, schools, etc. Public restaurants may use them, but usually such is not the case. Six of the members are required to hold licenses as dietitians and to work professionally in that field. The remaining three are citizens from the population at large. Sharpe represents the citizens at large.
Sharpe is the immediate past Chairman of the Wise County Republican Party, having served from August 2000 through January 2008. He and his wife, Suzanne, reside in Aurora.
