So it appears that the State of Texas has decided to eliminate Spring from the list of seasons. Last week, I needed a coat in the morning and a sweatshirt in the afternoon. Right now, it's 78 degrees. Today marks the first day of summer in Texas. And it's not even March yet.
But if you ask me, Texas only has just the two seasons anyway: summer and quasi-winter. While it does get pretty cold around here some times, and even snows in the northern part of the state, it's no winter like most of the country gets. Our winter temperatures vary from 25-55 degrees. And we don't really have an autumn. No leaves change colors on trees. Well maybe for a couple days, but they mostly just turn brown and fall right off. So I suppose Summer lasts from about March to November, and Winter lasts from about December to February (if you call it Winter).
Welcome to Texas, everyone.
Oh, by the way - it occured to me that I haven't posted a Rant of the Week or a Happy Feeling of the Week in quite some time. I'll do that this Thursday for sure.
