Man, I'm tired. Andy and I went down to Del Rio for the weekend to see his folks and friends. It takes about 7 or 8 hours to get down there, so leaving after my noon-2 class on Thursday was brutal.
Friday consisted of revamping his church's sound system. His dad is the pastor of Del Rio Bible Church and has a mix between contemporary speaking and more traditional dress/manarisms. Anyway, their sound system was all messed up from years of use and no maintanance, so we fixed it. That was loads of fun. I got to meet lots of Ricchuiti's friends from pre-TAMS high school. They were pretty cool.
At church on Sunday, they had contemporary music with a full band. It was awesome - I got to play guitar with them. Andy's friend, Lawrence, plays guitar and sings. He's amazing. It was so easy to play with everyone. It was like we'd been playing together for years.
On the way home, we passed through an Immigration Checkpoint about an hour east of Del Rio. They looked in the car and asked if we were American citizens. Of course, I said yes and they let us go. But also, Andy and I are both white. Very white.
NEW WORD OF THE WEEK: suburbal
USE: Del Rio is growing very suburbally. (The residential parts of town are growing further and further away from downtown.)
