Well, I couldn't sleep again. It's only 1:19, so hopefully I'll get to bed shortly. Andy was up here earlier when I was reading Slope's blog, entitled "It's all basically the same." He mentioned that that would make a good first-line to the chorus of a song. So naturally, my mind couldn't let it go. Here you go Andy...
It's All Basically The Same
I wake up each morning
To the same buzzing clock
And even though I try to fight it
I end up flying with the flock
Simple routine, they cannot cure me
They do not hold the answer
I can replace my life with more of them
But they just leave me unsure
You live out back with my dog Fido
Just waiting for me to play
Every day you fetch, we walk, I pet
That seems to keep you at bay
Each day when my friends see me
They ask, "how are you?"
I say "I'm well" and they keep walking
Away from what I hold as true
It's all basically the same
I live my life from day to day
Hoping I'll find something new
But all I find is you
There goes my clock, I hear it buzzing
It must be a new day
But from above I hear a voice that says
"Please raise your seat and tray"
I'm on a plane to Nowhere
And we're descending down to land
I fly here almost every day
And know it like the back of my hand
Each day I work, each day I play, each night I think but never say
Each day I work, each day I play, each night I think but never say
that I need you
I need you
It's all basically the same
I live my life from day to day
Hoping I'll find something new
But all I find is you
[insert wicked guitar solo and/or instrumental as necessary]
